Imprinted Concrete Sealing

Imprinted concrete is a popular surface choice for driveways and patios in the West Midlandsbecause of its hard wearing properties, strength and durability. Many homeowners in Birmingham, Coventry and Leamington Spa have chosen imprinted concrete for their driveway or patio as it needs very little maintenance compared to the widely used block paving.

Any unprotected concrete surface which has had prolonged exposure to the elements, will start to deteriorate over time. If imprinted concrete is not re-sealed every few years, the colour can fade, and general deterioration, caused by snow, ice and wear and tear, can start to occur.

Prior to pressure cleaning the concrete we will make sure the concrete is adequately prepared. This may involve carrying out minor repairs to cracks or broken areas. We may also need to pre-treat the concrete to remove oil spills and algae growth.

Once we have made pressure washed the concrete it is left to dry out. We can then apply multiple coats of concrete sealer from Smartseal to protect the surface from wear and tear. It may be necessary to add some colour tints to the sealer to re-fresh the original colour of the concrete. If the surface of the concrete is on a slope or is quite slippery when wet, we can add some anti-slip agent as well to make the concrete easier to walk on in these conditions.
